GENERAL 

01. What is SPRO? 
SPRO is the application for professionals via which you can conveniently and easily carry out parking operations for urban goods distribution (DUM) in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area and the Zona Bus areas in the city. 

02. What does SPRO offer? 
With SPRO you can use the DUM and Zona Bus parking services: 

  • Urban goods distribution (DUM): If you are a professional driver with an authorised vehicle, you can park in the DUM spaces with a simple operation on your mobile phone and without using a parking meter.  
  • Zona Bus: If you are a bus driver, you can park in the Barcelona Zones Bus without having to use paper parking tickets. What’s more, you will be able to use the Zona Bus service to park in the bus spaces in Park Güell and in North Barcelona Bus Station.  

03. Where can I download SPRO? 
You can download the app for free from the App Store or Google Play. 

04. How does it work? 
You just have to start the parking time and select the DUM or Zona Bus code of the place you are in. For DUM, the zone code is shown on the signs, together with the section you have parked in. The Zones Bus do not have a zone code, but all the parking places have good GPS signals.  

05. Where can I check and manage my tickets? 
You can check and download the statements you want from your user area or from the “Operations History” section of the app. 

06. Where can I check my operations history? 
You can check your operations history in the “Record” section or in the user area of the SPRO website. 

07. What should I do if I have a technical issue? 
You can choose the “Technical Support” option on the app’s “Information and Help” menu, where you will find a form to fill in and send us with your request and we will reply to you within 48 working hours. 

08. What will the parking attendant do if a traditional paper ticket is not on view inside the vehicle? Will I get a fine? 
There is no need to worry. The device carried by all parking attendants allows them to check in real time whether the corresponding digital ticket has been obtained for your vehicle. 

09. Can I start a parking ticket from any location? 
It is very important that you activate the parking time from your vehicle or from right next to it. In the case of DUM, you must always look what the DUM code on the sign is first as you will have to enter it on the app. 

10. Can I register more than one vehicle? 
Yes. You can add and remove vehicles from the “My Vehicles” menu on the app or from the User area on the website. 

11. Will I be able to use my mobile phone to park several vehicles at the same time? 
No, you can only have one ticket in force at any given time. 

12. How can I set up a warning for when the maximum allowed parking time runs out? 
You can activate an end-of-parking notification in the app settings. 

 

REGISTRATION AND USER AREA 

13. Do you need to register to use SPRO? 
You will not be able to use any of the services without a user account, so you first have to register. However, you can check the available information on the map and use the system to check predicted parking-space availability without being registered. 

14. What types of users are there? 
Personal account: For private users with one or more vehicles in their household. 
Business account: For company or fleet accounts. With this account, a work or sales team can manage the parking activity of a fleet of vehicles. This shall require the prior authorisation of a company manager, who will register all its associated users and vehicles. 

15. How can I open a personal account with SPRO? 
You can register using the app once you have downloaded it, or on the website. You will have to fill in the form with your personal information and you will receive an email to verify your email address. 

16. How can I open a Business Account with SPRO? 
If you want to register a business account, you can only do so through the website, by filling out your personal details on the form. You will subsequently receive an email to verify your email address. 

17. What is a company account? 
A company account is one with multiple users overseen by an administrator. Users will be able to use the SPRO services when given the required permission by the administrator. 

18. What can I do if I have forgotten my username or password? 
You can recover your password form the SPRO app itself or from the website, and you will receive an email outlining the steps you have to follow. 

19. What do I have to do if I want to deactivate my SPRO account? 
You can do this from the app by going to user settings and clicking on “Deactivate my account”. You can also do so from your user area on the SPRO website. If it is a fleet account, this must be done by the general administrator of the account. 

 

DUM 

20. Who can park in the DUM zones? 
It is still only the types of vehicles shown on the sign that can park in the DUM zones: lorries, vans, vehicles derived from cars and mixed two-seater vehicles. Therefore, cars that already have green and blue zones to park in cannot park there. 

21. Do I have to pay to use the DUM service? 
No, download and use of the app is completely free. However, if you prefer to send an SMS, the cost will be that stipulated by the telephone operator contracted by the user. 

22. Can I start a ticket outside regulated hours? 
Yes, you can start a parking operation outside regulated hours and the time counter will not start until you indicate as such. 
Make sure that parking is allowed outside the zone's regulated hours. We recommend that you check the sign at the end of the street where you want to park to verify the type of parking place and the regulated hours. 

23. Can a valid ticket be renewed for the same zone? 
No, the idea of the DUM parking places is to encourage movement of vehicles and to provide parking for a lot of users, so you must give up the parking space once the maximum allowed parking time is up. 

24. Can I cancel a DUM parking fine from the app? 
No. In the municipality of Barcelona, a parking ticket can be cancelled from the nearest parking meter. 

25. How does the predicted DUM parking place system work? 
SPRO incorporates a system that predicts the availability of regulated DUM-zone parking places to help users find on-street parking. All you need to do is enter your destination and estimated time of arrival and SPRO will show you the predicted parking place availability. Green indicates high availability, orange indicates medium availability and red indicates low availability. No predicted information is available for the areas marked in grey. 

26. What are the benefits of using an electric vehicle? 
In the specific case of vehicles categorised as “Zero emissions” by the General Directorate of Traffic Services, the maximum time for parking in DUM places is 30 minutes on top of the time indicated on the sign. 

 

ZONA BUS  

27. Who can park in the Zones BUS? 
Vehicles considered as buses or coaches, or in other words vehicles with nine or more seats including the driver's, which are designed and built for transporting people and their baggage. This also includes trolleybuses, which are vehicles connected to a power line but do not travel along rails. 

28. Do I have to pay to use the Zona Bus service? 
Yes, although the app is free to download, there is a cost associated with using the bus zones, which is published in the OOFF. This can be per-minute payment in the blue zones (the cost of which varies depending on the type of zone and the environmental label) and in the car parks, or per-parking payment for dropping off and picking up passengers and use of the Park Güell car park. 

29. Can I start a ticket outside regulated hours? 
No, you cannot start a parking operation outside the regulated hours. The app only allows you to start a parking ticket if it is inside the regulated hours.  
We recommend that you check the sign at the end of the street where you want to park to verify the type of parking place and the regulated hours. 

30. Can a valid ticket be renewed for the same zone? 
No, the idea of the Zona Bus regulated places is to encourage movement of vehicles and to provide parking for many users, so you must give up the parking place once the maximum allowed parking time is up. 

31. Where can I make the reservations for the stops that need to be reserved? 
In the Reserve Stop or Parking in Special Places sectionon of the main page of the Zona Bus website. 

32. I have made a reservation for a stop zone with a reservation. How can I use it? 
Once you are at the stop and you have selected it on SPRO, the app will ask you to enter the reservation code to be able to start the parking time. You will find the reservation code on the Voucher, which you will have previously downloaded from the Zona Bus website. 

33. Can I use SPRO in the bus car parks? 
No, at this moment SPRO is not prepared to be used in Park Güell neither at Estació Barcelona Nord Bus Station. To carry out these operations, you can keep using the parking metres located at Estació Barcelona Nord Bus Station and book a place on the Zona Bus website to park at Park Güell.  

34. What should I do if the app tells me that it has not found any regulated parking areas close to my location? 
Make sure you are not in a resident-only area, a DUM area, a blue zone for cars or a non-regulated parking area. We recommend that you check the sign at the end of the street where you want to park to verify the type of parking area and the regulated hours. 

35. Can I cancel a parking fine from the app? 
Yes, if the parking fine code can be cancelled and it is within the time allowed, you can do so with the app. Tap the icon with the three dots and select “Cancel parking fine”. This function is only available in Zones Bus. 

36. How does the Zona Bus parking place availability traffic light work? 
In some places, the Zona Bus service incorporates a real-time parking space availability system. To see this, you just have to look at the map on the app and SPRO will show you the available parking places in real time by means of a colour code: Green indicates high availability, orange indicates medium availability and red indicates low availability. No availability information is available for the areas marked in grey. 

37. Is there a parking limit for Blue Zone coaches in the Montjuïc Hub? 
No, as an extraordinary measure and while the Zona Bus Blue Zone is active, you can park in the Montjuïc Hub for an unlimited time (from 8 am to 8 pm Monday to Sunday). In the rest of the city of Barcelona, the maximum stay for parking in the Zona Bus Blue Zone is two hours. 

38. Are there long-stay parking places for coaches? 
Yes, you can use the long-stay parking places in Nord Station, at 80 Carrer Ali Bei, and the BSM network places at Moll d’Espanya, Plaça de l’Ictineu, Garcia Faria, and 71 Plaça Garcia Faria. Information about the cost can be found on the Zona Bus website. 

39. Are my credit card and bank account details safe in the system? 
Yes, all information is encrypted and complies with the most rigorous security standards. 

40. How can I change my bank card details? 
You can change your bank details in the “Payment” section of user settings. You can also do so in your user area on the SPRO website.
