01. Where can I go if I have questions about how it works?
We recommend that you take a look at the ‘Parking with your Mobile/ApparkB’ section on the website www.areaverda.cat, or you can view the ‘Information’ section on the App. If the answer to your question is not there, in the app, ‘Information/Technical Support’ section, there is a form to send us your question/request and we will answer within 48 business hours. 02. What do the different colours mean that are shown on the map for different parking sections?
Each colour shows the probability of finding a space:
Green: high
Orange: medium
Red:: low
Grey: shows where spaces are, but without any forecast at this time, as it will gradually be incorporated.
All associated information will be displayed by clicking on any section. Space type (Green or Blue), address, parking times and price/hour.
03. Do I need to be registered to enjoy the space availability forecasting system?
No, this service is also accessible without registering, you’ve just got to download the app and go to the map. Now though, if you reach your destination and would like to pay with APPARKB and enjoy all of its advantages, then you’ll have to register as a user. It only takes 2 minutes.
04. What is the refresh mode for the map?
There are two options: Just right now: updates the availability of spaces when you select it. You’ll have to refresh manually. Automatically: updates the availability of spaces every 5 seconds. This option uses up your battery and consumes data, as it has to constantly use the location of the terminal and the online forecasting information. But use the refresh mode that works best for you at any given time.
05. What should I do if the app tells me it hasn't found nearby spaces of the type selected?
Make sure it isn’t a zone exclusively for residents. We recommend that you look at the signage at the beginning of the section to verify the space types and regulation hours.
06. Can I use ApparkB to park as a resident?
No. At present, the app only permits parking in preferential Blue and Green spaces. Therefore, residents of the zone in question are excluded from parking payments, as they enjoy special conditions.
07. How do I change the bank card associated with my apparkB account?
You can change it in the app setup section, or from the user area on the AREA website.
08. From where can I use the service?
It is very important that you activate the parking from your vehicle, or standing next to it, otherwise your GPS may provide a position that does not match where your vehicle is and you could receive an invalid ticket.
09. What methods are there for registering?
You can do it from your smartphone before your first parking operation for which you are going to use the application. Otherwise, and if you prefer, you can register directly on our website from any computer.
10. Can I use the app to park in Blue and Green zones in municipalities other than Barcelona?
No, the app is only valid in Barcelona.
11. Do I need to put some type of time stamp receipt / identifier, or paper ticket on the vehicle when I pay using the Mobile App?
No, relax, we will already have record of the digital ticket you get from your smartphone, so you don't need to put any ticket inside your vehicle.
12. Can I use the same User to pay more than one car at the same time?
No. The system is designed so that you can only have one ticket in use at any given time.
13. How can I register more than one car?
It’s easy. Just follow the instructions on the screen when you are registering and add all of your vehicles right at the get go when you register. Then you don’t have to worry about it anymore.
14. Can I install the app on more than one mobile to park a car?
Yes. To use ApparkB, you only need to have a smartphone terminal with the app installed and a User account to logon and start using the app.
15. Can I buy a ticket while I have another ticket still open in another zone for the same car?
No. You can only have one digital ticket valid or open from your smartphone at one time.
16. Does the System let me extend a valid ticket in the same zone?
No. The purpose of the Green and Blue spaces is to encourage short-term stays and rotation of the spaces and give everyone, as well as you, the chance to park. Therefore, after you have parked for the maximum time permitted according to parking regulations—two hours generally—you’ll have to leave the space.
17. What new functions does the new version of APPARKB have?
It now has a system that predicts the availability of spaces, to help Users find parking. You only have to enter your destination and estimated arrival time (on the day you’re looking for parking) and ApparkB will display the forecast availability of spaces.
18. How does the User pay the costs?
Via the credit card you entered in your User area. Payment for parking is done when you stop the operation on the app.
19. Can I get a bill on my costs?
You can view and download any statements you like from your User area. We do not send bills by post to your address.
20. Do I receive a receipt after paying the digital parking ticket? Where can I view it? And for how long?
Yes. You will receive receipts every time you generate a digital parking ticket. You can view your latest digital tickets in the app, as well as on the Website, for one year.
21. How do I enter my personal area in AREA on the internet?
It is very easy. Logon using the data you used to create the account, email and password.
22. What do I do if I change cars?
It is very easy. Go to the User area on the website, or to setup on the app, and you can add or remove vehicles with a single click. First, you’ve got to add the new number plate and then delete the old one.
23. Can I buy a ticket outside the service times for regulated parking?
Yes. You can start a parking operation outside of the regulated times. You will start paying when the payment time starts.
24. Can I pay a parking fine with the app?
Yes, but only those related to apparkB. It is very easy. Click on the pertinent icon to pay for the parking fine and that's it.
25. How do I setup the advance notice time when the amount of time I can park is running out?
From your smartphone, enter the apparkB app, go to the Setup/Adjustments icon and you can define this advance notice time however you like.
26. How is the payment for parking with the APPARKB App shown on my bank statement?
Depending on your bank and the type of card you use to pay, you may see the charge in two ways.
1. You see a single charge for the entire amount of time parked.
2. You can see a change for the máximum time of stay allowed in the área where you have parked (prepaid carried out by your bank) and then, a credit line discounting the amount for the time not used.
27. What have I do if I want to cancel my apparkB account?
If you want to cancel your apparkB account, that is, you don't want to continue using apparkB App, you have to go to your user area on the web www.areaverda.cat/en/apparkB/login and identify yourself with your user and password. Once inside, your have to go to 'Manage Account', choose 'Cancel Account' option and confirm your request. Remember that if you are a fleet account user, the general adminstrator of the account must do so.
