Residents-only

Exclusives

Objective

Due to the urban characteristics of certain neighborhoods within the city, parking spaces exclusively reserved for residents have been established in order to guarantee, on an exclusive basis, parking availability for authorized residents’ vehicles.

This scheme applies to highly specific areas of the city, namely the Ciutat Vella district, the historic centers of Gràcia and Sarrià, as well as Camp de l’Arpa, El Raval, Barceloneta, El Born, and El Carmel.

In these areas, only vehicles belonging to authorized residents may park, in accordance with the established conditions.

Parking Conditions

Possession of a valid parking time voucher is mandatory. This may be obtained at parking meters or via the SMOU application or other authorized platforms.

The voucher may be valid for one or several days. In all cases, it must indicate the assigned zone and the license plate of the authorized vehicle.

Number of Spaces

There are currently approximately 2,900 parking spaces exclusively reserved for residents across the city.

Two types of exclusive resident parking spaces can be distinguished:

  • Some may only be occupied between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., from Monday to Sunday, during which time a valid ticket is required. This applies to Sarrià, Camp de l’Arpa, and Gràcia.

  • Others allow parking throughout the entire day, every day of the year; however, a ticket is only required between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. This model applies to El Raval, Barceloneta, El Born (Ciutat Vella district), and El Carmel (Turó de la Rovira).

Zone Delimitation

The service is currently structured into 35 resident zones. Detailed information for each AREA zone, including downloadable PDF maps, is available online.

Each resident is assigned to a specific zone and may only park under the resident tariff within their authorized area.

Rates

Residents

The base component of the fee is €0.20 per day, with a maximum of €1 per week. This rate applies to all vehicles entitled to resident parking, regardless of their environmental classification, throughout the entire year (from January to December, including August).

The City Council may limit the number of parking operations in the event of pollution episodes.

Non-Residents

No specific tariff applies to non-residents.

In areas regulated between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., non-resident vehicles may park freely between 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.

Exceptionally, in the Ciutat Vella district, certain areas are exclusively reserved 24 hours a day.
