Resident Parking Right Application

People who have the right to park in the AREA with a resident fee can apply for their Resident Parking Rights at the Virtual Ofice of the Barcelona City Council.

If you are resident with AREA Resident parking Rights in force and wish to register a new vehicle on your registry, you can apply online at the Barcelona City Council virtual office, you do not need to attend the BSM Citizen Attention Point in person. We will change your details electronically, will notify you at your address, and then, you will park your new vehicle in your AREA zone. If we need additional documentation for any reason, we will get in touch with you. You can also register in person at any Citizen Service Office (OAC) of Barcelona City Council.

Remove a vehicle assigned to the AREA Resident Parking Rights

Request for remove a vehicle assigned to the AREA Resident Parking Rights

If you are a resident with AREA Resident Parking Rights in force and you wish to remove a vehicle assigned to your registry, it is possible to request the cancellation of a vehicle associated with your Resident Parking Rights by calling 010 or in person at any of the Citizen Service Offices (OAC's) of Barcelona City Council or at the BSM Citizen Attention Office (Calabria, st., 66 ground floor - 08015 Barcelona).

The BSM Citizen Attention Office's timetable is open works days from Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm and from 3.30 pm to 7.30 pm. If you prefer, you can make an appointment here: Appointment

Advance payment of AREA resident rate

Residents who park, within their area of residence, either in Exclusive residents Green Area or Non-Exclusive Green Area, may opt for the payment in advance of this rate for one day or several days, and at most, up to the last working day of the year.

2. By parking meter:

If you are user of parking meter, may opt for the payment in advance of this rate from the first working day of the year and for a máximum of twenty working days.

Request for change of residential zone within AREA

If you are a resident with AREA Resident Parking Rights in force and you have changed your address within AREA, you can request this change by calling 010 or, in person, at any of the Citizen Service Offices (OACs) of Barcelona City Council or at the BSM Citizen Attention Office (Calabria, st. 66 ground floor - 08015 Barcelona).

If you are a resident with AREA Resident Parking Rights in force and you wish to remove a vehicle assigned to your registry, it is possible to request the cancellation of a vehicle associated with your Resident Parking Rights by calling 010 or at the BSM Citizen Attention Office (Calabria, st., 66 ground floor - 08015 Barcelona).

Paying a penalty

Cancellation of a penalty

In order to cancel a penalty, you will need to obtain a special receipt from the parking meter. The charge for the special receipt is 9 Euros for all vehicles.

Non-resident drivers who have parked their vehicle in a regulated zone and who have received a penalty charge notice for exceeding the maximum time allowed can cancel the penalty as long as the excess time is not longer than half of the amount of time paid for.

Resident drivers who have parked their vehicle in a Exclusive for residents zone or another space within their residential zone and who have received a penalty charge notice for failing to display the time ticket can cancel the penalty within one day from the time payment should have been made.

Users of SMOU - Barcelona Residents service app who have parked their vehicle in a Exclusive for residents zone or another space within their residential zone and who have received a penalty charge notice for absense of digital time ticket can cancel the penalti, from same app, within one day from the time payment should have been made.

In the case of vehicles destined for the transport of goods that, having parked the vehicle in one of the parking spaces of the DUM area, have been reported for exceeding the authorized hour limit indicated in the electronic receipt, the amount of the special receipt is 9 Euros.
