What is a parking meter?

The parking meter is a payment device that issues a control ticket that proves that the license place of the vehicle for which it was obtained has its parking rights in force, both in relation to the parking time and the fee paid depending on the type of area in which it has been parked.

How does it work

Once the screen is activated by pressing the ‘Start’ button, must select the type of regulated parking corresponding to the parking space where the vehicle has been parked, enter the license plate of the vehicle and make the payment.

With the new Barcelona parking meter, it is no longer necessary to put the paper ticket into the vehicle. As digital ticket it can be checked in real time from the parking enforcement officer’s device. However, if needed, can be printed a receipt at the end of the ticket acquisition operation on the parking meter.
