Expansion of Zone 28 in the District of Sant Martí
As of March 1, signalling works will begin for the implementation of the expansion of the regulated parking zone in the District of San Martí. The aim of these actions is to extend the AREA residents' zone known as Zone 28.
Expansion of Zone 28
This action will regulate parking on the road between the limits of Rambla de Prim, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, carrer de Sant Ramon de Penyafort and Avinguda d'Eduard Maristany, so that residents will have priority when parking and will form part of the current Zone 28.
The spaces that are regulated with this expansion are 1,511 new Green spaces and are identified with green paint. This means that, in order to prioritise residents' parking, non-resident vehicles in Zone 28 will only be able to park for a maximum of two hours within the regulation timetable indicated on the corresponding vertical sign and with the Green Area rate that corresponds to the vehicle's environmental label.
In addition, 370 new Motorbike area spaces and 38 new DUM area spaces will also be created.
Information for residents
All residents of this expansion who own a vehicle registered to their home will be able to enjoy the possibility of parking in the Green parking spaces of Zone 28 as identified on the vertical sign corresponding to the Resident rate that corresponds to the environmental label of their vehicle. Thus, from the second half of March, residents registered in the area who own a car registered in Barcelona will not need to make any formalities; they will receive at their homes an information letter about their resident zone as well as an information brochure on how to use the parking space as a resident.
Getting the tickets
To obtain on-street parking tickets as a resident, it is recommended that users use the free ONaparcar residents mobile app. With this app you can get tickets from one day until the end of the year at the latest. As it is a digital ticket, it can be checked securely and in real time by the parking attendant's device and therefore it is not necessary to use a parking meter or place a paper ticket in the vehicle. However, if necessary, a receipt can be printed out for the payment made.
Implementation schedule
The planned implementation schedule is as follows:
- 02/20 - 02/28: Vertical pre-signalling on the street indicating the dates when parking will not be allowed in order to carry out the signalling works in each street.
- 03/01 - 03/31: Horizontal signalling work (painting of the new parking spaces on the street), vertical signalling (installation of the vertical regulation signs) and installation of parking meters, according to the dates established for each street.
- 03/15 - 03/21: Postal delivery of the information letters to those residents included in the expansion of Zone 28.
- 04/12/2021: Activation of the new Zone 28 spaces.
