Novetats importants per als Residents de l’AREA pel 2018

The year 2018 starts with important news for residents in regulated parking areas of Barcelona (AREA). These novelties, included in Tax Ordinance 3.12, affect how to obtain the time tickets and for how long because from January 2, 2018 the quarterly resident time ticket from parking meters will disappear. From now on the channels to obtain the resident time tickets are:

App ONaparcar residents: from 1 day to the last working day of the year

From December 29, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. AREA residents and users of ONaparcar residents app, will be able to start obtaining their advanced payment time tickets for 2018. The allowed duration of the time tickets issued by the app will be from one day to the last working day of 2018.
Using the free mobile app ONaparcar residents it is not necessary to place the time ticket in the windshield of the vehicle. As a digital time ticket it can be checked telemetrically and completely safely by the surveillance device on the street.

Parking meters: from 1 day to 20 working days

From December 29, 2017 at 8:00 p.m., AREA residents will be able to obtain their advanced payment time tickets for 2018. The allowed duration of the time tickets issued by the parking meter will be from one day to a maximum of 20 working days.

In this case, it must be remembered that it is mandatory and indispensable to place the time ticket on inside of the vehicle's windscreen, clearly visible from the outside and making sure that all the information on the time ticket is clearly visible in order to check its validity.

Resident rate and parking duration allowed for 2018

The rate for AREA residents during the year 2018 will continue to be 0.2 euros / day. It can be consulted the each resident rate for 2018 at www.areaverda.cat

On the other hand, it must be remembered that the maximum duration allowed per resident vehicle parked in the same place in its authorized area is 7 calendar days.

Air Pollution Episodes

In case it has activated an air pollution episode, the rate for residents will not increase. However, the City could limit the number of parking operations on the days in which there is.

It must be remembered that, in the case of a resident parks his vehicle in a regulated parking area different from his authorized area during an air pollution episode, the base rate of the Blue AREA or Green AREA for non-residents will increase the amount of 2 euros / hour in all cases, except in the case of vehicles classified as Zero Emissions in which, exceptionally, it will be 0.0 euros / hour.

The vehicles classified as ECO will not pay surcharge once the new digital parking meters that allow discriminating this type of vehicles com into operation. The scheduled date of entry into operation of these parking meters is May 2018.
