A new regulated parking area is added to the District of Sant Martí
As of October 26, signalling work will begin for the implementation of a new regulated parking area in the District of Sant Martí. These actions will take place in the new AREA residents' zone called Zone 28.
New Zone 28
This action will regulate on-street parking between the limits of Avinguda Diagonal, c. Bac de Roda, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes and Rambla de Prim, so that residents will have priority when parking and will form part of the new Zone 28.
The places that are regulated with this extension are 2760 new Green places and are identified with green paint. This means that, in order to prioritise parking for residents, vehicles belonging to non-residents in Zone 28 may only be parked for a maximum of two hours within the regulation hours indicated by the corresponding vertical sign and with the Green Area Fee corresponding to the vehicle's environmental label.
In addition, 40 new places in the Blue area will also be created.
Completion Zone 19
Moreover, taking advantage of the actions planned for the implementation of Zone 28, the regulation of on-street parking of Zone 19 of AREA will be completed with the incorporation of the streets between Avinguda Diagonal, c. d'Espronceda, c. de Perú and C. Bac de Roda.
Information for residents
All residents of this new zone who own a vehicle registered in their home will be able to enjoy the possibility of parking in the Green spaces of Zone 28 thus identified in the corresponding vertical sign with the Resident's Fare that corresponds to the environmental label of their vehicle.
Thus, from the second half of November, residents registered in the area and who are owners of a tourist car domiciled in Barcelona will not need to make any arrangements. They will receive an information letter about their resident's area and a brochure about the use of the car park as a resident. The same applies to those neighbours who have become part of Zone 19.
Getting the tickets
To get the on-street parking tickets as a resident, it is recommended that users use the free mobile app ONaparcar residents. This app can be used to get tickets from one day up to the end of the year. As it is a digital ticket, it can be checked safely and in real time by the guard's device and therefore it is not necessary to use the parking meter or place any paper ticket in the vehicle. However, if necessary, a receipt for the payment made can be printed.
Implementation schedule
The planned implementation schedule is as follows:
- 10/26– 11/04: Vertical pre-signalling on the street indicating the dates when it will not be possible to park to carry out the signalling work on each street.
- 11/05 – 12/04: Horizontal signalling (painting of the new squares in the street), vertical signalling (installation of the vertical regulation signs) and installation of parking meters, according to dates established for each street.
- 11/14 – 12/20: Postal delivery of the information letters to the neighbours included within the new Zone 28.
- 01/11/2021: First day of activation of the new places included in Zone 28.
