New regulated parking zone in the District of Les Corts
As of 21 September, signposting work will begin for the creation of a new regulated parking zone in the Pedralbes neighbourhood of the Les Corts district, to be called Zone 24.
New Zone 24
This action will partially regulate parking on the road between the limits formed by c. de Manel Ballbé, c. Torrent de les Roses, camí de Finestrelles, avda. Pearson, c. de la Font del Lleó, camí de la Mare de Déu de Lorda, c. de Castellet, avda. de Pedralbes and avda. Diagonal, so that residents of the Pedralbes district will have priority when parking and will form part of the new Zone 24.
The spaces to be regulated with this extension are 944 new Green spaces and are identified with green paint. This means that, with the aim of prioritising residents' parking, non-resident vehicles in Zone 24 will only be able to park for a maximum of two hours within the regulation timetable indicated on the corresponding vertical sign and at the corresponding Green zone rate according to the vehicle's environmental label.
In addition, it is planned to create 267 new Motorbike parking spaces and 10 new DUM parking spaces.
Information for residents
All residents of this extension who have a vehicle registered at their home address will be able to park in the green parking spaces in Zone 24, which are identified on the vertical sign with the corresponding Resident Tariff according to the environmental label of their vehicle.
Thus, residents registered in the zone who own a car registered in Barcelona will not need to make arrangements, as from 17 October they will receive a letter at their home address informing them of their resident zone and an information leaflet on how to use the parking space as a resident.
In the case of new residents registered within the limits of this extension and who are entitled to park in the AREA at the resident rate, they can apply for their resident parking rights at the Barcelona City Council Virtual Office, by calling 010 or, by appointment, at the B:SM Citizen Service Points.
In the case of residents registered within the limits of this extension and who are the main driver of a company vehicle or maintain a commercial contract to provide services, if autonomous; or who are the main driver of a vehicle under a renting, leasing or stable rental regime of more than three months, either in his name or on behalf of the company for which he works or with which he has a commercial contract for the provision of services, case of being autonomous, must expressly request their resident parking rights at the Barcelona City Council Virtual Office, by calling 010 or, by appointment, at the B:SM Citizen Service Points.
Residents who were registered in the ZU Zone and who are moving to the new Zone 24
Residents of the streets within the boundaries of Avinguda de l'Exèrcit, C. de Jordi Girona, C. de Joan Obiols and C. de Trias i Giró, who until now have been included in the ZU Zone, will now be included in the new Zone 24.
In this case, all residents of this area who own a vehicle registered at their home already enjoy the possibility of parking in the green spaces of the ZU Zone and, as of 7 November 2022, they will be assigned to Zone 24.
These residents will not need to make any type of management or modification, since with the AREA resident parking rights that they currently have, they will be able to continue obtaining parking tickets with the same conditions as before. And, if you have resident parking tickets for the ZU Zone, from 7 November 2022, they will be automatically transferred to Zone 24.
Obtaining tickets
To obtain resident parking tickets, users are recommended to use the free ONaparcar residents mobile application. With this application it is possible to obtain tickets from one day until the end of the year at the latest. As it is a digital ticket, it can be checked securely and in real time by the parking attendant's device and, therefore, it is not necessary to use the parking meter or place a paper ticket in the vehicle. However, if necessary, a receipt can be printed out for the payment made.
Implementation schedule
The planned implementation schedule is as follows:
- 03/10 - 10/10: Vertical pre-signalling on the street indicating the dates on which parking will not be allowed in order to carry out the signalling works on each street.
- 11/10 - 06/11: Horizontal signalling works (painting of the new parking spaces in the street), vertical signage (installation of the vertical regulation signs) and installation of parking meters, according to the dates established for each street.
- 17/10 - 31/10: Mailing of information letters to residents included in this extension of Zone 24.
- 07/11/2022: Activation of the new spaces in Zone 24.
