AREA Mobile Applications
AREA, the regulated parking system of Barcelona, and Barcelona City Council have developed a series of free download and use mobile applications to cover the regulated parking service in AREA Blue, Green, Residents-only and DUM parking spaces. In this way, management and parking payment by users becomes more easy and comfortable for them whether for residential, professional or visitors use.
With these applications, available for smartphones with Android or iOS operating system, gets a digital parking ticket easily and immediately. This digital parking ticket can be checked safely and in real time by AREA warden devices and, therefore, it is not necessary to use parking meters or place the paper time ticket into the vehicle.

App smou includes:
- Parquing meter service that allows to pay per minute in Blue and Green (use as non-resident) parking spaces digitally and only for the exact time used. Also offers the service of parking spaces availability prediction. Download the smou app is free and use Parquing meter service to pay parking time doesn’t involve extra expenses in comparison with street parking meters.
- Residents Barcelona service that allows to pay parking in Residents-only and Green (use as resident) parking spaces of the user’s resident zone easily and from anywhere. With Residents Barcelona service can get parking tickets for a day or, at most, until the end of the year. Download the smou app is free and use Parquing meter service to pay parking time doesn’t involve extra expenses in comparison with street parking meters.
spro
Mobile application to manage parking in Urban Goods Distribution (DUM) parking spaces of Barcelona and metropolitan area. Also offers the service of parking spaces availability prediction of Barcelona. Download and use of SPRO is free. Parking in DUM parking spaces is free but it is mandatory to make the telematics validation.
