As of 28 October, signalling works will begin for the creation of a new regulated parking zone in the Trinitat Nova neighborhood of the Nou Barris district, which will be called Zone 34.

New Zone 34

This action will regulate parking on the roadway between the limits that form the Via Favència, c. de Nou Barris, c. de Portlligat, Pg. del Bosc de Roquetes, Pas d'Antonio Cuadrillero, Av. Vallbona and Av. Meridiana, so that the residents of the Trinitat Nova neighborhood will have priority when parking and will be part of the new Zone 34.

The parking spaces that are regulated with this extension are 1,042 new Green spaces and are identified with green paint. This means that, with the aim of prioritizing residents' parking, non-resident vehicles in Zone 34 will only be allowed to park for a maximum of two hours within the regulation hours indicated by the corresponding vertical sign and with the Green area rate that corresponds to the vehicle's environmental label.

In addition, it is planned to create 186 new Motorcycle parking spaces and 12 new DUM parking spaces.

Information for residents

All residents of this extension who own a vehicle registered to their home will be able to park in the green spaces of Zone 34, which will be identified on the vertical sign corresponding to the Resident Rate that corresponds to the environmental label of their vehicle.

Thus, residents registered in the zone who are owners of a passenger car domiciled in Barcelona will not need to make any arrangements, from 14 November they will receive at their homes an information letter about their resident zone and an information leaflet on the use of parking as a resident.

In the case of new residents registered within the limits of this extension and who are entitled to park in the AREA at the resident rate, they can apply for their resident parking rights at the Virtual Office of the Barcelona City Council, by calling 010 or, by requesting an appointment, at the B:SM Citizen Service Points.

In the case of residents registered within the limits of this extension and who are listed as the main driver on the insurance policy of a vehicle belonging to the company where they work or with which they have a commercial contract for the provision of services, in the case of being self-employed; or who are the main driver of a vehicle which they have under a renting, leasing or stable rental for more than three months, either in their own name or in the name of the company where they work or with which they have a commercial contract for the provision of services, in the case of being self-employed, they must expressly request their resident parking rights at the Virtual Office of the Barcelona City Council, by calling 010 or, by requesting an appointment, at the B:SM Citizen Service Points.

Obtaining tickets

To obtain resident parking tickets, it is recommended that, as of 22 November, 2022, users use the 'Barcelona Residents' service of the free mobile application SMOU. This app will replace the current 'ONaparcar residents' app from next 22 November, 2022 to offer all personal regulated parking services in a single app.

From the 'Barcelona Residents' service of the SMOU application, tickets can be obtained from one day and, at the most, until the end of the year. As it is a digital ticket, it can be checked securely and in real time by the attendant's device and, therefore, it is not necessary to use a parking meter or place any badge or paper ticket in the vehicle. However, if necessary, a receipt of the payment made can be printed out.

On the other hand, it should be remembered that with the SMOU mobile application it is also possible to obtain parking tickets for non-resident parking in Blue and Green parking spaces digitally. All regulated parking services in Barcelona in a single mobile application.

Implementation schedule

The implementation schedule is as follows:
• 28/10- 05/11: On-street vertical pre-signalling indicating the dates on which parking will not be allowed in order to carry out signalling works on each street.
• 07/11 - 27/11: Performance of horizontal signalling (painting of the new parking spaces on the street), vertical signalling (installation of vertical regulation signs) and installation of parking meters, according to the dates established for each street.
• 14/11 - 21/11: Mailing of informative letters to the neighbors included in this new Zone 34.
• 28/11/2022: Activation of the new Zone 34 parking spaces.
