New boundaries for Regulated Parking Zones 25 and 29
In Barcelona, the AREA system helps to organise on-street parking, improve mobility, and promote a more sustainable and accessible city for everyone.
It is a dynamic system that is periodically adjusted according to the needs of each zone, in order to offer a better service to citizens.
Starting 17 November, signage works will begin to adjust the parking boundaries between Zone 25 and Zone 29, within the Horta-Guinardó District.
As part of this update, the Zone 29 area (see map) has been redefined with a new boundary, which will extend up to Passeig de la Mare de Déu del Coll and Carrer de Dante Alighieri.
As a result, the area enclosed by Passeig de la Mare de Déu del Coll, Carrer de Dante Alighieri, Rambla del Carmel, and Carrer del Llobregós will no longer be part of Zone 29. Residents registered in this area will now belong to Zone 25 (see map), where they will be able to park within the entire zone.
Please note that:
With the AREA resident parking rights you already hold, you will continue to obtain parking tickets under the same conditions as before. You will be able to park in Zone 25 using the corresponding resident rate, without the need to carry out any procedure or modification.
In addition, current resident tickets corresponding to Zone 29 will be automatically transferred to Zone 25.
How to get parking tickets?
To obtain parking tickets, we recommend using the free SMOU app, where you can:
• Get tickets for specific days or until the end of the year
• Do it digitally, without paper or parking meters
• Check receipts if needed
• Tickets are digital and can be validated in real time by enforcement agents
Implementation schedule:
• 17/11–18/11: Replacement of vertical signs indicating the new boundaries of Zones 25 and 29.
• 17/11–18/11: Update of resident tickets for Zone 29.
• 17/11/2025: Activation of the new boundaries for Zones 25 and 29.
