From 22 September, work will begin on the signage for the creation of a new regulated parking area in the Trinitat Vella neighbourhood, in the Sant Andreu district, which will be known as Zone 36.

New Zone 36

This action will introduce regulated parking on the roadway within the boundaries formed by Passeig de Santa Coloma, Avinguda Meridiana and the Trinitat Interchange, giving residents of the Trinitat Vella neighbourhood priority when parking. These spaces will form part of the new Zone 36. (view the map)

The spaces regulated within this new zone include 632 new Green Area spaces in Zone 36 and 136 spaces resulting from the overlap with Zone 20, all identified with green road markings. This means that, in order to prioritise resident parking, vehicles belonging to non-residents in Zone 36 will only be allowed to park for a maximum of two hours during the regulated hours indicated on the corresponding vertical sign, at the applicable Green Area rate according to the vehicle’s environmental label.

In addition, Zone 36 is expected to include:
• 231 AREA Motorcycle spaces

• 29 new AREA DUM spaces

Information for residents:

From 9 November, the new Green Area spaces in Zone 36 will be activated and identified with the corresponding signage. If you are a resident registered within this zone and the holder of a vehicle registered in Barcelona, you will be able to park at the resident rate.

What do you need to do?

✅ Residents already registered and with a vehicle registered in Barcelona:
No action is required. From October, you will automatically receive at your home:

• An information letter with the conditions of the zone

• A leaflet with all the information on how to use the service

✅ New residents or residents in special situations:
You must submit an express application if:

• You are self-employed.

• You are the main driver of a vehicle belonging to the company you work for or a company with which you have a commercial service agreement.

• The vehicle is under a rental, leasing or long-term hire agreement (more than three months), either in your name or in the name of the company you work for or with which you have a commercial service agreement, if you are self-employed.

• You have recently changed your address within the zone.

How can you obtain parking tickets?

We recommend using the free SMOU app, where you can:

• Obtain tickets for specific days or until the end of the year

• Do so digitally, without the need for paper or a parking meter

• Check receipts if needed

Parking tickets are digital and can be validated in real time by enforcement officers.
 

Planned implementation schedule:

The planned implementation schedule is as follows:

• 22/09/2026: Advance vertical signage on the street indicating the dates on which parking will not be allowed to carry out the signage works on each street.

• 30/09–06/11/2026: Horizontal signage works (painting of the new parking spaces on the street), vertical signage works (installation of the regulatory signs) and installation of parking meters, according to the dates established for each street.

• 26/10/2026: Postal delivery of information letters to residents included in the new Zone 36.

• 09/11/2026: Activation of the new Zone 36 spaces.
